I made a plate. The plastic doodads didn't keep the boot in place.

I didn't have platic retainers (doodads) either . Was sheet metal screws. I like your placement of better though . Much easier to get to.

My car was originally a diesel, so not enough vacuum for a vacuum brake booster. So instead, the brake assist is hydraulic, powered by power steering pump.

I'm keepingthe hydroboost. I liked how the pedal felt and I like how compact it is. Here is a decent pic
