A friend of mine who owns a speed shop uses the Astro/Safari set up all the time in his customers cars with the engine he builds that has no vacuum.....

Race engines with a big cam etc. Would be a perfect use for this . You could avoid the extra vacuum canister I'm guessing .

There is no vacuum required. Like Jared pointed out it's run off the power steering box.

you don't loose any with that set up or if you do it's very minimal. As for race cars we always had manual brakes
