406 Olds stroker +15 x 7 stock rally wheels = no traction ever
I know the traction will b far from none. I have new bfg 255/60 on my 15 inch olds ralleys sitting in the corner waiting to go on. I can get tires to fit it to get some traction. 🙂

The Olds, Pontiac and Buick A body rears don't use c clips, carriers and gears are hard to come by. What year are the rears?.

The problem with a 7" rim is you are usually at the tire manufacturers minimum rim requirement for any decent size tire and it won't keep as much tread on the ground because of it being pulled in from the skinny rim, I would say that size tire could easily go on an 8.5"-9" rim.
If one of your rears are only 2" wider overall I would do mock ups with your current set up and add a 1" spacer between the rim and drum and see if you have clearance issues or if it doesn't look right and if there are no issues then look into getting your rims widened on the rear an 1" and if you do a frame notch you could go even wider while still retaining your "stock ralley" look.

Most suspension companies that make Gbody stuff make them, like UMI for example. Theirs in part number 3027.
Ok thank

. There both Oldsmobile rear ends ones a 69 and the other is a 70. The 69 is a 390 and the other is 373. I converted it to the 373 posi

Those will be 4.5" wider than the G body rear...JBrue has the 4.5" wider A body rear in his Monte. You'll need the conversion uppers and you can check with JBrue but I think the stock lowers with fit. As 565bbchevy suggested you would need the lowers with a bearing on the rear end side cause the brackets are closer to the center of the car on the 64-67 A body rear than they are on a G body rear even though the 64-67 A body rear is 2.5" wider. I used the UMI control arms

I can't take credit it was Garrett1982 that had that suggestion.

JBrue helped me a lot when I was installing the 67 8.2 in my GP. I got the conversion uppers but Jbrue never mentioned a problem with the lowers so I'm think the wider A body rear lines up with the lower control arm. I actually got the stock lower installed so I could roll my car but I ordered lowers from UMI. The UMI lowers didn't have a joint on the rear end side so they modified their lower control arm to add a Roto Joint. UMI was real nice about it and only charged me the difference of the price of the Roto Joint. I don't know if you have seen this picture int he past but here is the angle the Roto Joint sits in with the 64 -67 A body rear.

Ok so I can actually use one of my rear ends. Does anyone know what the actual width is of a A body and the G body rear ends are from outside the brake drums? Plus if the Abody rear ends are wider why do I need spacers for my rims? Or is the width measurement that are wider only where the rear ends mount on the control arms? Plus what about coil springs are they also needing to b adapted also? Also what about getting the correct pinion angle? Or are the new upper controls arms you buy to retro fit the Abody rear ends adjustable to retrieve the correct pinion angle? Thank you.

Why not measure the rear ends you have. If you measure the lower control arm brackets they should be the same or real close to it The coil spring perches on an A body rear are further forward than the G body perches but you don't have to move them. The conversion uppers are adjustable so you can set your pinion angle.

Both A Body rear ends are approximemtly 61.25 from outside of axles the upper control arm mounts are 25.50 from outside of axle to the center of the mount on the rear ends. Now does anyone know how wide the G body rear ends are. My 87 is in storage now so I'm not able to measure that one right now. Thank u
