After my day in the sun my oldest made me make good on my promise to take her out in the Monte. Hard to argue with that. We got out of the subdivision and I leaned into it: Daddy? I smell burnt rubber.

No matter how much I slid the car around she didn't blink. Nice to she doesn't scare easy anymore. I did get a lecture about how loud it is.

Mostly black cars look cooler in the shade.

I think I found that banging noise. LOL.

Break out the cutoff wheel and welder, Mike!

So most of the usability of hpt minus the Big Brother corporate oversight and no $100 unlock credit?

Precisely. The TunerPro RT interface is a little janky, or at least it used to be when I used it on my Turbo Buick. I believe you just need a good dongle to do the reading and writing. I have LS Droid as well: https://ls-droid.com/

More info: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LsDroid

I just need more time to play with it all... too many projects.

I wondered if you would experience this. I had a similar issue on a previous g-body. When they get low & the d-shaft gets bigger, it happens sooner than later.

I think it was fine until I added a kid to the car. Heh.

Many months later...

I finally got around to addressing the driveshaft rub. First step was to resolve the lack of bump stops at the axle tubes. Moving the frame in by about two inches means everything needed to move in two inches. Rather than further butcher an 8.5" differential housing I made some extended mounts.

I hadn't TIG welded in a while and it showed.

Waste not , want not on repurposing the front A arm bump stops. There is about a half inch between the stop and frame - I good starting point.

And then I had to get serious and hog out the tunnel by sectioning the cross brace and making a recess in the floor pan. Nothing special just more room for activities - hopefully now it won't rub and thump.

I'll fix this later. Maybe.

Trying to make the most of the lift while I still have it. Steering stops are next.
