I quickly buzzed back through the last few pages but didn't see..... What was the decision for the final 'top coat' in the trunk?

Ask and ye shall receive!

I used EZ Liner (https://www.dominionsureseal.com/product/ez-liner-aerosol-bedliner/) in the trunk.

In the wheel wells I used a layer of Rustoleum bed liner (DTM, https://www.rustoleum.com/product-c...bed-and-undercoating/truck-bed-coating-spray/) and a layer of Rustoleum rubberized undercoating (also DTM, https://www.rustoleum.com/product-c...bed-and-undercoating/rubberized-undercoating/).

We'll hide the ugly with a lot of melted rubber.

And finally, I covered the remainder of the floorboards with 3 coats of Rustoleum bed liner - same as the rest of the floor (as done previously).

I got photobombed by the garage troll - he was pretty high.

Whataday!

I haven't thrashed this hard in a looooooooong time. After cleaning up the garage I made up the replacement rear brake line section, and bolted it down. Routed and secured the fuel lines and magic pixie tubes. Slammed the gas tank back up in place and connected the lines. And finally got to installing the rear... getting the ride height close was "a challenge". I must have had the springs in and out a dozen times trying to get the ride height and suspension settings to agree. There are a weird stack of shims and isolators in there right now - the car can go lower but the upper arm angle suffers. A full 30" tall tire will be mandatory. I also determined that the front frame notch is good, the rear needs a bit of material to be removed to be extra safe with the bigger tire.

This is the car without a swaybar, fuel, interior, battery in the trunk, shocks, etc.

I should have it mobile again next weekend.

Managed to smash this list of crap out today, and a bunch more:

This is the car sitting full low, the pinion is sitting on a chopped down factory snubber, the driveshaft has 1/2" clearance inside the tunnel. I made some relocation brackets for the shocks to move them away from the wheels. I measured the travel of the shock and placed the bracket at the halfway point. It's not perfect, but it gives me something to build off of. The sway bar is going to need drop brackets as well. The endlinks are way too long now, but I knew that was coming too.

Yup. This is everything back in the car less a tank of gas. We'll have to adjust it up a bit to get things proper.

It ain't teabag. Bleed the brakes, add some fuel, and fire it off.

The trunk looks really good - very impressive!

I know it's low, I am just having a hard time appreciating how low it really is when it's on stands.

Hopefully it will be on the ground soon and we can appreciate the low-low.

The tires are 255/65R16s (29.1" OD) and the fender lip is at ~26" from the ground. One of the biggest limiting factors I have is the 4" diameter driveshaft. I could engineer a solution to go lower but it would be a lot more work (moving the tunnel up, sectioning the torque box, adding more holes to the forward UCA mount, lower the rear UCA mounting holes, etc). Alternatively I could drop the body lower over the frame, and I would like too, to gain a similar effect without impacting suspension geometry.

The pinion angle was quickly set to -4*. I still need to confirm the driveline operating angles.

I hope to have it back on the ground by Friday.

Brakes bled (it was a lot of *ss pain getting it right), gassed up, and it's alive again! It cranked right over like nothing ever happened.

I still need to finalize the frame but now I can drop it down and get it out of the way until I do. We have snow inbound tomorrow, but the weekend looks good for getting things out and about.

Visual impact statement.

She's gonna spark like a low rider.

Definitely gonna need those taller tires.
