Nice and crusty! That's gonna be a winner!Ate a jelly donut, drank some coffee, and got to work. Flat tops and the correct casting number on the crank make this a 4.8L. A little crusty inside but overall good enough. Piston tops cleaned up nicely - head gasket residue is being softened by some WD40.

The plan is now to put the TSP heads off the wagon on this thing, pop in the janky *ss custom Comp Cam I spec'd years ago, some LS7 lifters, and send it. I will be robbing a few other key parts off wagon's LS1 that recently became "available".
