Does anyone know what the quarter window sealing options are? I really hate that gooey factory rope chaulk.

AFAIK....the gooey factory rope chaulk is the stuff. That butyl is nasty shizz, def run a tape line around the window opening.

Okay then... who do we source this vile product from?

Made the little C pillar end caps.

Next we start stripping the paint off everything.

Nice fab!

Mr. Riddler makes my OCD look slovenly.

Yours is the first time I'm seeing someone actually weld in metal in that dreaded area. Am I missing that much in other threads?

Maybe? I've seen sail panel replacements that deleted the seam, but that was a repair.

In other news I decided to go back over my work. Having a day to reflect on the situation I realized whatever corner I was cutting now was just going to result in more work later. So I cleaned every nook and cranny and popped in a bunch more spot welds. On the B pillar I drilled out and plug welded the forward edge to reduce the potential of it lifting.

Then I took an 80 grit roloc disc and patiently knocked down the welds to the base metal... I feel much better about this now.

I hope to knock out the other side after we get back from hockey practice.
