Re: CRUCIAL118's 86 CUTTY TPI BUILD

Update 4-21-11:

Replaced all sensors...TPS, IAC valve, knock, coolant temp, MAP, oxygen. All CEL codes were clear now, but it still wasn't idling completely right. Almost like a vacuum leak, but couldn't find anything. I sprayed cab cleaner around the injectors, intake, runners, throttle body, etc., but still nothing. The throttle lever also kept sticking a little keeping the rpms up a little. Got sick of messing with the throttle body and got a new one. BBK Twin 52mm unit. Like night and day. It really made a drastic difference. Throttle response is crazy good, hp increases, no more sticky throttle lever, and idles smooth now. Car was fun to drive before, but now is a blast. 😀

awesome ..whats ur estimate on hp and torque??

Have no clue, just know it is murdering the 307 that was in there. Prob round 230-250hp maybe more(not sure if has the original cam or not). Not too much worried bout hp and torque ratings, just want something fun to drive. And so far I haven't been let down.

Car is now in the body shop getting driver's side fender dent repaired, vinyl top removal repairs, and paint. Can't wait...like a kid on Xmas eve. 😀

Just a little update. Hope to be getting the car back this week. Here's a few pics from the body shop. Pics of paint, without clear coat!

Finally got car back. Seemed like an eternity. Color wasn't what I was expecting, but I like. Kinda blue-green-gray. Gray by night. Goes good with interior. 😀

Car looks good man,Ive never seen that color its different,Now i would just get some chrome rims to really bring that paint out something in the 17' to 22' inch range and save them rallyes for the winter...

Thanks. Was thinkin of 18" Torque Thrust 2's. Don't want to go too big. Don't want to attract the wrong people. Youngins probably won't want 18s, they want 20s and bigger.
