What did you disconnect on the cruise control?

It should have nothing to do with it unless you are disconnecting the vacuum lines. They run to the servo and the brake pedal switch.

What round thing, the cruise control servo or the vacuum storage ball?

The canister is for the evap system, the ball is the vacuum storage unit.

The evap gets hooked to the gas tank and the carb. It should say what line goes where on top of the canister.

I dont know what gets connected to the vacuum storage unit.

The vacuum storage ball is in the vacuum lines for the HVAC flapper door controls. Disconnecting it would make it hard to operate the ventilation controls. It also helps to add a buffer to the cruise control system too.
