I would say that the aluminum tilt T-shaped piece is broken or bound. If you decide to get into it let me know and I can walk you through it. I fixed many Saginaw columns when "splacking" was the rage in car stealing
I did a test fit with everything. So nothing is installed now. I'm redoing all of my interior currently. They do not work with the dimmer. I like the bright dash cluster so I don't care too much about dimming. They make different lumen bulbs if you don't want it very bright. I had to rewire speakers, radio, all my gauges, dome lights Ect. I will say though that I'm a huge led fan I do have another car with complete leds...What bulbs did you finally end up with, and from who? Do they work with the dimmer? Got any nice after pics to show us?
I got under there turned my high beam lights on and when I manually clicked my brights switch nothing happened. I think who ever wired everything up before I got the car didn't wire the brights up right or at all. I'm not too worried about getting to work as I don't drive the car a ton let alone much at night. I'm debating if I want to spend the time fixing it or not.... I can move the switch and the rod freely but the leaver won't move anything . I don't think it's binded because I can move the rod probably broken like you saidI would say that the aluminum tilt T-shaped piece is broken or bound.
