Dash light help

I like the led bulbs I had but I wanted something brighter so I ordered another set. I also purchased a bed dimmer so I will report back if those bulbs work with the dimmer....

Would you guys recommend putting bulb grease into the dash light sockets?

Here's a test. I rewired my 4 aftermarket gauges, dash lights and CD player. Put everything back together and it looks awesome. Can't wait to put everything back together definitely looks a lot more modern and bright.

Next I need to figure out why my dome and lights under the dash don't work. I do have a random gray wire under the dash that isn't connected to anything does anyone know what that gray wire goes to?

Also how's come the drivers side door pin has 2 pins on it with wires while the passengers side only had one wire ?

It's normal for the driver's side dome light switch to have two wires and for the passenger to have one. One of the wires from the driver's side connects to the passenger side switch. The switches provide ground to the dome light circuit when one of the doors is open.

I have re wired everything. I'm going to make sure my dome and under dash lights work before I put everything back together. Is the dome light connected to the headlight switch also? My dimmer was going out so I put a new one in. I pulled out my door light pins out cleaned them, fixed a split frayed wire and re installed them. Just wondering if anything else could cause them not to work. My dome light isn't wired up at the moment

did you test anything with a test light?

The dome light circuit is on the dimmer, so that when you turn the dimmer all the way counter-clockwise (I think) it turms the dome light on without you having to open the door.

I haven't gotten to that point yet.

Great info and diagram. Once I drop the headliner I'll grab all new bulbs . I know my dome light isn't even hooked up currently so when I drop the headliner I'm going to get everything all wired up and check from there. That diagram will help a lot. I need a new headliner I don't think mine can be saved. Is there a company you recommend to buy the headliner from ?

I found out what it was thank you guys for the help and diagram. it ended up being the door jamb switches that were bad. I was getting power everywhere with my test light. I even pulled them and wire wheeled the switches the other day. after process of elimination i took the ground off of the door pin and grounded it myself and they came on. after looking into it good the inside of the pin was corroded and not making a good connections.

finally have all LED bulbs in the cluster, gauges, interior lights, turn signals and corner markers. Car looks a lot better now

What bulbs did you finally end up with, and from who? Do they work with the dimmer? Got any nice after pics to show us?
