😛 wow. always been a chevy man but mainly trucks. My son. 12yrs old loves the g body cars. u can tell he is mine. but i can use all the help i can get. i purchased a 1981 grand prix nearly spotless for 700 bucks. one catch no motor or trans. interior is like prestine no crack nothing. im not a person that likes stock so i bought a 355 sbc and a turbo 350 trans for it. thought they were good but someone dumped water down the intake. tips trick and interchangables for my car would be of great appreciation... oh ya im chris hope to have pics later

Welcome aboard! If your looking for interchangable parts, your in luck because most 78-88s share parts.

thanks guys. i think it was originally a v6 car. i bought a 355 with a turbo 350 with it. i just purchased the cam lifter and pushrods today. ultamatly i just want a hot street car. might take it to the strip to see what it can do but thats about it. i have a paint scheme in mind but money is tight thats why im looking for easy tips and used parts. i thought about putting one of the two 700r4s in my garage in it but i decided not to, might try to sell them for some funding

Welcome, any questions i can answer just ask ive have 4 grand prix's working on the 4 today , sounds like your headed in a good direction nice engine and trans, to get started , you going with real duel exhaust , jegs makes a 350 crossmember most reasonable ive found that the one im using, exhaust kits ,theres are nice to and fit with little work cheeper than a muffler shop, console or column shift? the motor mounts you need a set of clam shells and should bolt right in. Hope this gets you started

Its on the column unluckly. i want it to be a floor shifter but not sure how to open that can of worms. i think someone had put a v8 in it and it already has duel exhaust hanging in excellent shape. i just ordered my cam and lifter and pushrods today. any opinions on the Howard cams. the one i got is 286 292 duration and 470 lift with a 110 lobe seperation. i definatly need to get a posi rear end and gears for it to. what were they thinking when they built these cars with a 2.14 gear or what ever crazy high gear they put in them
