FInally got the parts order from Rockauto for DerKrautenwagon. Been waiting for the replacement waterpump for the stock motor.

I didn't get a lot of pics as I was lightly coated with coolant during the process. But I think I know why the old one crapped out, smashed connector.

The stock waterpump lives on the passenger side below the AC pump. Its a tight fit and you have to drop the swaybar mounts to get to it. But all in all it wasn't so bad and for the quote of $1500 the kid I bought it from, had from a local shop, the whole job was 2 hours with a belt change. The waterpump was $280 CAD, so that sucked, but WOW, talk about rip offs.

I did the belt and changed the oil/air and HVAC filters.
WTF is this? lol

When you remove the filter housing on top of the motor it drains onto the drivers side of the block/intake then to the ground... Nicely done BMW.

I doubt I will have to change oil again... Seeing as the rear main seems to be more of an oriface. it looks like an old farm truck with the filth under this car. hahaha

It needs shocks and struts next, with a drivers side HID bulb and Ballast. So not too bad, I am not even $3800 deep and it seems to be a potential runner. Once I get it fixed i could flip it ALL DAY in these parts for about $6k CAD. SO thats not bad.

Looking at that 6 crammed in there fills me with feelings of dread and loathing. You're a bigger man than me to sign up to work on that thing.

I was actually considering this 530Xi wagon....AWD. After thinking it over seriously, I thought what a pain in the *ss it would be to maintain and work on. However, I did consider an LS transplant. I saw one on You Tube with an LS3. Man, did that car sound tough. I'm sure they're great drivers. I've since got it out of my mind.

Lol, all 225hp of inline 6, almost like they are over compensating for something. Goofy torx head fasteners everywhere and reusable slip on hoses.

Ooomph. The thought of having to work on a BMW is....(*shudder*)

If all else fails, insure it...then...

It needs a big whomping LS. That will fix the majority of its issues.

Most it it isn't bad to deal with, it's just very different.

I looked for a wagon but people want a mint for them. It's time for wagons to be cool again.

I feel targeted for not moving quick enough for you. 😉

Hahaha. Not even what I was getting at. BMW wagons are like hens teeth here and anything nice is overpriced.

You probably didn't want to see a hack like me ruin your baby anyway.

I know I was just teasing. Back to watching videos on camming NA 6.0Ls.
