Or is it just me?
ok so yesterday i was just going to work which is right around the corner.
and the one red light that i have to stop at this guy in the car next to me is like honkin his horn and tryin to get my attension
so he rolls down his (automatic) window and of course i have to crank my (manual) window down and he askes me if i want to sell my car "You lookin' ta sell it" the lack of gramar skills makes me angry
then i get to work and some guy honks his horn tryin to get my attension as im backing into my parking spot
i pull into my parking spot and he pulls up next to me and wants to play 20 questions about my car
then trys to convince me to sell my car going on and on
he tells me everything has a price
so i ask him if he would sell his first born child
his persistance started to piss me off so i had to be a smart *ss
i highly refuse to sell my $900 car
ive had offers as high as $4000 but i refuse
so i go into work which is a sunoco gas station
so my car is always parked right in front of the store ( so i can keep an eye on my baby haha)
i dont trust people enough to park it and be too far away from it for long periods of time
so anyways im at work and just doing the daily grind and i counted 16 people wanted to play 20 questions about my car
12 out of those 16 asked if i wanted to sell it
this happens to me everytime i get my car out for the daily drive
it gets slightly annoying
but then again i enjoy people inquiring about my car
because im proud of it
but how many of you werent proud of your first car
the car isnt much i mean shes almost fully stock except for the rally's and tires
it even has the 231 3.8L v6 which has no balls
i wash her once a week and make sure shes kept in her garage everyday
i was just wondering if this happened to anyone else
sorry for the long *ss post just had to get that off my chest

i get that a lot as well, especially when i start up my no balls 307. (got a y\Y to a Straight pipe with hallow cat.) even with my half done body work from my holes in my vynil top i still get the offers from people i know have no money. but some people like to dream and as long as they're just FANTASIZING about my car its ok. makes me feel good at the end of the day people like my car

haha
yea thats exactly what im talking about
just the people that you can tell are sketchy as hell
wanting to buy my car
everytime i tell people how much i actually paid for the car
they're like dude you stole that car
cause i mean she looks good
no rust
no dents
no paint fade
nothing wrong with the exterior
and only thing wrong with the interior is that damn v6 lol
but at the end of the day it does feel good
pretty funny how having something someone can't have makes us feel good

No, I don't have that problem. But then I drive fugly POS's that no one wants to even park next to. I used to have a beautifull 68' LeSabre that got blasted by a drunk with no insurance, and that learned me.

i know the feeling, I painted my 79 Cutlass Candy apple red with gold flake to dump it on the local community in Vegas. Not one call etc. then I decide to pull the engine and put a 455 in it. No sooner than I had the engine out, people were knocking on the door wanting to buy it. I painted it white and I traded later for a 72 Cutlass Supreme. I should have kept it..

That one always gets me. I've had a few pull up next to me when I was driving the '87 years ago asking if I'd like to sell it.
I politely say no and then they pull out the "everything has a price" comment.

I promptly tell them they are correct and the price for my '87 is $500,000. Some laugh and move on. Other's then want to argue about how the car isn't worth that, blah, blah, blah.
I always tell them that price for a car that a person doesn't WANT to sell is much different than the price for one they do. 😉

Most of the time this only happens in the "hood". In the better parts of town you just get a thumbs up or "Hey, nice Olds" etc.

Back in my high school days i had a 76 cutlass, and man was she gorgeous. Really beautiful color blue with a white half vinyl top, and stereo system. Back then i went through a rap phase and had sub woofers and all that stuff. I would get people trying to buy it all the time. Some of the offers were so low i just laughed. However once i was offered 5 grand cash ( i paid 2200 for it) He had the cash on him and everything ( use your imagination as to why he had 5 grand cash on him). I was soooo tempted to sell it but it was like a week after i got it and just couldnt do it.

I have your "problem" with every car I own, especially my Impala, but it doesn't upset me. I usually entertain their offers just to see what people think my cars are worth. But you should be leary of very persistent people, who asks specifics about your car (ex: do you have an alarm), as they may be plotting to relieve you of it if you know what I mean.
