Does anyone know how many versions of OEM T tops were made?

Yes. 86 and newer. They're locking, so there's that, along with no channel. Nice pieces to have. I think they'd physically fit mid-79 and later, but not 100% sure. The rubber seals are the same part number for 82-88 G-body, so there's probably nothing to do with the channels being there or not. Probably a money saving idea. :)

Was at the World of Wheels today and there was 1987 Trans Am I Was looking at and noticed it had t-tops with the plastic chanels on it. Had asked the owner how long he had the car and are the tops original to the car, he purchased the car new and the tops are original to the car. The tops did have the locks.
Strange that some tops had the channels and some didnt.

my 87 GP has the non channel/locking type tops, but the previous owner had picked up a pair with the stainless channels/non locking somewhere. they don't fit, but have G-body written on them in JY crayon.... looks like they would work if I took the stainless off though...
