Durability Of Painting A Vinyl Steering Wheel Grip

Okay, I have dyed seats, vinyl anyway and it worked just fine.

I was pretty sure Plasti-dip was originally intended for tool grip surface? I mean, I would understand buying a cheap steering wheel to try it out on...

I am not against trying this to see but I would be using the matching paint I already have.
My real question be will it even look better matching the dash color since it is not a factory wheel and also I am adding more black to the interior by blacking out all of the woodgrain on the dash panels and maybe a few other things.

I am wondering if anyone has painted the vinyl grip on a steering wheel and had success on the durability factor.
I just bought some paint from GbodyParts that matches very well to my dash, I think my Grant wheel would be kind of cool looking with a matching grip but I feel since it will constantly be touched with possibly dirty, sweaty etc. hands I feel this would not be a durable option.

Paints formulated to adhere to vinyl are made from 100 percent acrylic or urethane and acrylic resin blends. I mix my own paint and haven't used the gbody.com stuff but you could check the chemistry to verify.

PPG has a great adhesion promoter, I would clean it and spray with the PPG and then the paint. Let it dry for a few days and it won't melt in the summer....
