You might try putting in " edelbrock carburetor installation " and there should be alot of post that come up on that

Personally, after owning several Edelbrocks in the past, I'd rather have a properly running Q-jet or just a spreadbore in general. Any reason why you want to ditch the Q-jet?

I use a 1406, and trust me you won't need a 750cfm eddy on a 305. That is way overkill and 9 times out of 10, a 750 is too large for most performance 350's.

x2....80ELCAMINOFLAKE I think should get the qjet running properly to see how it runs before deciding to spend money on another carb..there is a bunch of us on this forum running a qjet and there is a reason for it...I had mine build by a guy to suit my engine and driving habits and it's great, I've had an offer of a free built holley cause that's what we run on the race car but I turn them down

I will agree with the others....an edelbrock 1406 "600 cfm" will be more than enough for a small block.

Spreadbores such as the Q-jet are the best of both worlds IMO. Small primaries for throttle response/improved gas mileage and monster secondaries when you decide to get on it. Plus I think that Q-jet is rated at 795 cfm.

Unless you're looking to swap jets frequently or feel like embarking on an easy carb rebuild for the hell of it, I say stick with the Q-jet. I wouldn't call the 600 or 750 a performance carb, more like a replacement carb.

He is right .If Its not broke don't fix it. A stock 305 does not need a 750 cfm carb, You are just opening a can of worms.
Bigger is not always better. If you had a head ache you wouldn't take 6 aspirins would you?

LoL...ok ok..i will stick with my Q-Jet, its working fine just thought Edelbrock will make my engine look and perform much more better with it being a high performance carb..

dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with my carb, just wanted to know if i need an edelbrock or stay with my Q'jet...

IM STAYING MY Q"JET...

thanks guys!!! lol
