Worked on the bedcover at work past few days, Got it all shiny & perty. Actually it's just wet epoxy to seal it & help see where to sand & fill. Also pictured is my 3 rows of 250 watt heat bulbs in my temporary work paint room. Nevermind the mess of wires plugged in you see, they're for the led lights that were added onto several times. Each row of 250 w bulbs has it's own hd cord & takes up 1each 15 amp circuit breaker.I can get surface temperatures up to 130 plus degrees.

Far out man!!! An OLD phrase was the first thought that came to mind. One thing I just realized after all the times I’ve looked at your bed cover, you duplicated the body lines of a stock Elco hood. If I would have stuck in autobody the last 30 years, instead of changing careers. I might be (a LITTLE bit closer) able to do the George Barris quality of custom work you do. If I wore a hat, it would be off to you!

Just incredible! I don't even like EC's but I'm glued to this thread. Awesome work.

The pic with wet epoxy gave a deceptively smooth look. A few more hours of sanding & more body filler in spots Thursday eve & it's on to evercoat g-2 featherfill & sand & first repeat fri evening

I actually styled the cover after the general shape of the c-6 vettes rear hatch, which just came out when I started the cover, along with the V-shape of the hood. It is a similar bodyline profile to the hood, but much more curvature.

Jumped back on vehicle bodywork this weekend between yardwork and going with wife look at puppies we are to get next month. Wanted to epoxy primer sunday , but not there yet. Had to fine tune door to quarter gap also.

Got this thing out in sunlight today with shiny epoxy to get a better view of what bad I need to adjust before things get smoother. Not too horrible , but damn this modified g-body wheel flare area got past me earlier. I know I had a high spot in center from cut & rewelding & a low spot forwards of it from getting too close trying to run through English wheel by myself. So I'm running fineline tape above wheel flare & applying filler up to it. Filling in a few other areas that are too far off & getting ready for more g-2 primer/filler.

More filling , sanding & priming after work tues to thurs. Got wheel flare area much closer & keep finding high & low spots all over using various long sanding sticks. getting much closer now. Also a bit of perfecting upper outer & inner body line is needed. Finally got some vette panel adhesive in for filler, which is much tougher. Stopped by a friends house to ask him to give a critical eye.
