Yea but ever see a lime green batmobile?
Actually I am doing a color change from GM black to SPI black black. The inside of the bedcover will stay raw aluminum to show off that it ain't some fiberglass POS.
Black doesn't photograph well, but in person it has a presence of it's own, especially pulling up with loud exhaust, a few necks get hurt looking.:wtf:

Got a few polished stainless strips that I'll put on some of the cover underside support strips to finish them off.
Need to design a driprail setup for the sides of the quarter panels that meet up to the bedcover. I think if I incorporated the punched & flared hole/ dimple die look to the inner quarter sides, it would add a lot of interest when the cover is open.
maybe even just painted like in this interior photo.

Those dimpled holed.
look neat .
Black is ALWAYS my first choice. The last 7 vehicles in this house were either bought in black or I painted them black. Even the wife's 2016 Equinox LTZ is black metallic.

Typical jerk offs that probably still drive their mothers minivan.

While it's not for me I can definitely appreciate the hard work you put into it

The fab work is awesome!

And you drove it around town and nothing fell off so thats a win!!

Not my thing, but that what makes our hobby great! Super job on the fab work - even if you don’t like the car you have to respect the work that went into it.

Need to fill out those wheel wells tho!

Started on turning upper vette bumper into a functional tailgate. used a full size truck tailgate as a starting point for an inner structure, getting it roughly to shape.
In order for tailgate to hinge with proper geometry & not have exposed pivot points I had to design a mechanism that will slide back and then tilt down. Will have stops to hold tailgate upright into position and hold it in lowered position WITHOUT side cables. will have small shocks in sides. Will have modern latches at approx. center level of structure and pull release will be accessed from bottom of tailgate just above license plate.

Just remember that this a hobby and just do it as time and money will permit. Look how far you have come with some very nice work, Good luck to you.
