Equipping a G-Body with a manual trans

You'll have some alignment issues with the factory clutch linkage and that bellhousing.

hehe, there`s an th350 in the car now, I want to swap.

over here, everybody is running automatic transmissions, only a few, are stupid enough to go for a manual, well, I`m stupid, but I want a manual trnasmission, so I bought one, that would fit my newly built 350sbc.
thats why, I`m asking about the flywheel! 60% of the car will be custombuilt, due to the lack of spareparts available.
I have to get by, with what I can get my hands on.
so a Chevy 350
a T10 transmisson
vauxhal clutch assembly
Bmw hydraulic master and slave.
e-brake from a merc
and some other stuff, i have laying around.

ther`s going to be a lot of moulding panels, and chopping parts, not to mention, good old fashion brainpower.
over here, only the rich, can afford to buy new parts, the rest of us, have to get by, anyway we can.

I see... didn't know you weren't in the US. You can't even buy replacement GM parts? There has been quite a bit of research done on using F-Body (Camaro/Firebird) master cylinders, and you can use an aftermarket hydraulic throwout bearing (replaces the clutch fork entirely, not sure what the BMW is like)... the BMW slave may have a different bore size and if the master/slave aren't proportioned correctly the clutch will never work quite right.

I used an S-10 Hydraulic Clutch Master and a Howe Hydraulic Throwout Bearing. 86 Camaro Bellhousing and cut off the slave cylinder mounting flange. Ran the Hydraulic Hoses threw the fork opening and have the rubber seal that goes around the fork surround my hoses. So far no problems..

maybe I should have pointed out, that I`m from Norway.
I have found some parts, that will fit, but its the size of the flywheel, that puzzles me.
still wondering about the the 11in flywheel and clutch from summit.
but since you guys are the experts on G-bodys, I thought I would ask here first!
I will have to order the clutch and flywheel, within two weeks, otherwise it will not be here before june, and then I`m running out of time, in order to get the car ready for 4th of july, in Oslo.
one of the biggest carmeets in norway, and a lot of fun.

Well I'd Googled your casting number and it shows up as a late '50s Chevy, 168 tooth flywheel... so if you already have a 168 tooth flywheel it will probably work. Easiest way is see if the bellhousing will mate up to the block with the flywheel mounted. If it doesn't, you need a 153-tooth. Also due to the year of the casting I'm not positive on what transmissions will work, but I'm pretty sure they had the same bolt pattern over the years.

Checked recently, and The Parts Place is selling individual pieces for mechanical linkage, so you don't have to buy an entire kit if you only need specific pieces (i.e. clutch fork pushrod or the bell crank).

Cool, thank you.

I have been looking in to Hydraulic throwout bearings, and to me, it seems the best option, so far.
will have to work some overtime, to afford it, but so be it, only the best for my car! hehe
