It's not gonna happen because what the term originally meant and what it means now are two different things. I understand where your coming from, having it annoy you when its used wrong. However, the meaning has evolved and now it incorporates new definitions as well as the original.
You can try all you want to bring it bacl to it's original meaning but the simple fact is your voice is not large enough to reach the entire world at one time.

I've grown up around a few hot rodders from the 40's-present.....Some of which have made the trip to the big car show in the sky now...... There knowledge will be forever missed. But as for the term "bubble" I was always led to believe the first cars given that nick name was the 60-62 impalas...... They had a fairly square body with a very curvy top nick named "bubble top impalas" so calling an early 90s caprice that would be the second wave. Just my 2 cents..... Please correct me if I'm wrong tho. I'm sure there are several guys on his forum that were around back in the day to confirm this.

Not to start an argument, but most "donks" arent what id call safe. Any time you lift the center of gravity of a car, put in a SBC, and dont widen the wheel base you have problems. No matter if its a 82 chev 1500 with 37" mud tires or an 84 cutlass with 26's and a 10 inch lift. Of course sooner or later your going to want to take a turn fast, or turn to dodge something, and this happens. Now if you drive like a grandma everywhere, sure you will be fine. But saying its safe to drive a donk with 26's is like saying its safe to drive around with only your rear brakes. Sure, you will probably be fine, but you also might rear end somebody.
