I'm tired of explaining and arguing with people over the definition of the word "donk". So here are pics of exactly what the word stands for:

All of the above are Donks, 1971-1976 Chevrolet Caprices & Impalas ONLY. You may have noticed that none of them are on big wheels. That's because the wheels have nothing to do with the term "donk"; it's a nickname for those specific vehicles. Now that I have given this class, hopefully you will take this knowledge that I've dropped on you today and share it w/those who can't read.

According to you...

Even the online wiki states: "Most hi-riser enthusiasts agree that a "donk" traditionally is a 1971 to 1976 Impala."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hi-Riser_(automobile)

No where could I find that it says that it is the ONLY one. Like someone above said, urban culture words often change in meaning as others use (and often misuse) them. When did Noah Webster die and promote you to Donk authority and educator?

I guess I will leave the donk-dictator to his thread... :blam:

Not to be a jerk, but, what's the use of using a "loose" term. Donk was a faux name given to a said vehicle by a person or a group of people, not by the manufacturer. 71-76 full bodied chevrolets were Bel airs, Biscaynes, Caprices and Impalas. Nowhere in GM will you see that they rolled out of the factory as a donk, it's a fictional name. So if GM didn't recognize their vehicle as a donk, why should anyone else? Being that it is a fictional name, one would assume you could apply it to just about anything. If I owned one of those (71-76 full size), I would definitly be the guy who corrects those who call it donk, it is not a donk, it is a Chevrolet (insert model).

This is my opinion and im not forcing anything or starting anything i just wanna voice my opinion about this because it pisses me off!!! When i see a 70s - 80s monte carlo, cutlass or anything with 20+ inch rims on it i just wanna punch a baby! People have no idea how corny these things look! Driving slow with their "music" blaring thinkin their the snizz when in reality they look like an ignorant douchebag driving a car that would look better off at the bottom of a cliff! Its not a kid "fad" because im 19 and in college and when me or anyone of my friends see one of these "things" driving around we point and laugh because the owner has no idea what they look like. These people have a HUGE bullseye on their backs when they drive these ugly *ss things around. Im sure im not the only one on this site that feels this way and im sure that this will piss some of you off that own one of these stupid *ss things but i dont care anymore!!! Im tired of seein classic cars get destroyed. Again nothing personal to anyone because i feel the same way about these ricer "fast and furious" wannabes. Feel free to throw your opinions out there too . . . . peace.
