It will have to be patched... do you own a welder?

A while back somebody had posted some pictures of patching the rust in the front area of his t-tops...

Yea I have a welder, but I was thinking about using panel bond to put the patch pieces in. Any thoughts on that? I also thought about using it to put my section of floor in too.

pretty big, the corners of the windshield on both sides are prtty much gone. Stupid winters here in Buffalo :x

Anyways heres what both sides look like, the passenger side is not quite as bad....

Yikes! Is that car from Bedrock? (Like the Flintstone's reference? )

I would weld patches in those areas. If they were smaller, I'd say use panel bond, but not on that.

Hahaha I was thinking the same thing when i saw it, the rest of the floor in the car is sold as rock, as well as the quarter panels, rockers, doors, and frame. It only rotted out there go figur probably from the t-tops leaking. Thank god I got floor pans I was going to use on my Salon before i decided to make it my parts car. And as for the roof I already have my sheet metal, got it for free lol its a fender off a ford taurus that was smashed at work ( gotta love working in a body shop 😀 ) But im probably going to try my had at welding it although im afraid the metal may be too weak to weld to and it may just burn through eh who knows I guess well find out. Does anyone have any pictures of what the t top area should look like under the weatherstrip panels so I can try to recreate the area to make it look as close to factory as possible with all the curves and bends and such?

63U, PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, MED TAUPE MET (92)
63T, TOP COLOR, MED TAUPE (92)
68L, SECONDARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, CINNAMON MET ( 92 )

This is pretty confusing. Medium Taupe could be the color, but it seems a bit too dark and the Cinnamon Metallic is a redish color and there is no red on my Cutlass.

Where are you getting your paint names from? I sincerely curious. I've got some scans from a GM paint code book for 1981, and 63 is code for "Pastel Sandstone", Ditzler Code 3327.

Which is no help for me, as my 1981 has 69U & 69L, and there's no code listed for that year (in the book) while the RPO list gives 69U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, MED BEECHWOOD MET (91) & 69L : SECONDARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, ROOTBEER MET (92), but those are absolutely useless as real life paint code.
