It will be his once he shows me he is responsible enough not to do anything stupid in it.I will be driving it occasionally until I get my 84'Hurst back on the road.Last time I drove it him and his younger brother were in diapers riding in the back seat.Sounds like a good project for your son to learn a lot from. Experience is the best teacher and if he's into cars then it's probably a dream come true for him to have a project car to work on with his dad.
Is this gonna be his car when you're finished or yours or both?
Here is a pic of my Hurst and the engine going in it.Also a pic of the Cutlass with a Hurst hood bulge and moulding, have alot of extra parts for a Hurst too.It will be his once he shows me he is responsible enough not to do anything stupid in it.I will be driving it occasionally until I get my 84'Hurst back on the road.Last time I drove it him and his younger brother were in diapers riding in the back seat.
Just has extreme surface rust. When I got it home we pressure washed it and it still had marl packed in the frame from being in a flooded farmfield 20 years ago.Going to clean it up and give it a couple coats of Por-15 and replace the body mounts.Already have all the bolts out,not a single one broke!Great looking car.
What is wrong with the frame?
Not at this time.Have a couple of new complete front and rear brake sets with all hardware stashed in my basement.I will give the kid one of those to use and buy a new set of lines and proportioning valve from Inline Tube here in MI.He's buying everything for his car we need to do this project so trying to use what we've got, thats the name of this build thread anyway.Any brake upgrades planned?
Exactly.Built a 403 years ago and had a vacuum leak on the back endrail.Nothing I hate more than re-doing something I should have done right the first time. What's the purpose of the dimples? To give the RTV something to grab? I haven't seen that before.
