Fellow New Yorker's, looks like the party might over for us

Like I said in the other replies, those guys ruin it for everybody. All these idiots really think they're somebody with their idiot mobile daily drivers. As I'm typing this I'm in my basement and I can hear some idiot in a car that has no business having an after market exhaust and sounds like it has a cat delete, resonator delete and giant fart can muffler. Made worse by and automatic transmission. Guarantee said person is 18-26 years old and lives at moms. These aren't enthusiasts, they're attention seeking, wannabe morons.
Stopped attending the Sunday night Sheridan Drive cruise due to the street hero's in Challengers/Chargers and imports drag racing at every stop light. First night I went there was a Joe Dirt style 3rd gen Camaro with Open headers, Tunnel ram, Blue halo head lights, air shocks and to the cords worn drag slicks. Yes these are the people that ruin it for the rest of us.
'Rollin coal' is cool in certain areas among certain people until they get covered in soot. It's the same level of inconsideration displayed by the fart can popping crowd - no concern that they are infringing on anyone else and at times, proud that they are bothering someone else. Ignorance is bliss.
Funny story, recently on vacation in the Caribbean and was asked where I was from by a salesman that works for John Deere corporate. I mentioned upstate NY and he immediately knew what I meant. He called me 'upstate' every time we ran into each other for the rest of the week (mostly at the pool bar lol) - it made me chuckle. Many of us distance ourselves from that place. I hate showing any form of prejudice towards much of anyone, and I know we have forum members there, but there is little to nothing that I like about any type of city living. NYC included.
My wife and I were in Antigua. We were at dinner with a group of tight asses from England, Australia, and maybe France. Some of the most boring people I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around. When it came time to tel them where we were from, laid on a heavy *ss accent and said “New Joisey”. Not much conversation after that. Not that I minded.
I've had the (mis)pleasure of having to go to NYC.... any dumping is well deserved.
I think "upstate" new york should build a series of pipelines for all their municipal sewage to converge around Nyack, then dump it into the Hudson - treated, but smelly, and give back to NYC as much sh*t as it gives the rest of the state....

On another note Lancaster Speedway went the same way. It went from all different types of builds to a mob scene of dealer bought Mopars and Camro ZL1's, The imports at the track never bothered my because it still took a bit of work and creativity to get good results. But the guys buying the newer Mopars(mostly automatics transmissions) ruined the scene. I think the simplicity of it brought a different type of person into the scene.
Started at Sheridan Park, Sunday evening 5-8 pm May through September. You were able to meet up with groups of people and drive up and down Sheridan Drive. You could support many restaurants and ice cream stands along the way while watching some really nice cars and trucks pass by. I don't want to knock the people who ran the event, It was an event that really brought car enthusiasts out and does not restrict you to just one parking lot. The issue I had is you are still on a public road, want to race...Go to Lancaster and do so in a safe enviroment not on a busy thoroughfare.
Ive lived on LI my whole life. That being said everyone in NY knows why King Andy stayed in Albany. The wealthy from NYC and the fleas that get the government freebies kept him there. Look up the elections on Wiki. The majority of voters up state wanted Molinaro. Cuomo got the city. He was nothing but a thug. If you watched the debate between Cuomo and Molinaro you know exactly what I mean. The last two guys that ran against him would have been good for the state. I think Astorino might be running again. Zeldin is another good choice. A LI guy probably unheard of past Westchester. Hes got a good reputation for doing the right thing. I honestly think he'll get rid of the SAFE Act since the majority of the people in the state know its useless. Most LEOs I know say its done nothing.
When Preet Bharara busted Skelos and Silver I was really hoping his investigation would go all the way to Albany and he would find some dirt on Cuomo. Sadly that got shot down. Funny, it just took a bunch of women to get him out of power.
