It's Done!!! putting it in 2morrow...i painted the valve covers satin black

well i procrastinated on finding a hood, so I just made a "scoop" to cover the hole on my hood....I like the hand made look, and it'll ride for now...It's a prefinished black aluminum panel that i riveted to the hood with aluminum rivets...i put weatherstriping under it too, to seal off the elements...and i put "kicks" on the 3 straight sides to give it a raised look....keep in mind this hood had a big hole for my hilborn scoop to poke out and it's not in the best shape...again it fits right with the "project" look i'm going for

stupid stripes....it was one of those things i did when i got bored...just to see if I could lay some straight stripes....i could...haha the DA and some 180 took a lil of them off 😀

back view, you can see the black weatherstrip sticking out

scoop2.jpg

front view, i like my craftsmanship...

I like what you did with the hood very cool indeed

thanks! i can't wait to see it on the car....some people wont understand it, alot of critics out there haha...

Haha know how that one feels congrats on the install and no snow

shoulda got some flowtech headers, absolutely no problem fitting em in.

so i went to pick up my car yesterday, we had it running doing lil adjustments everything was good...the inline fuel filter was leaking a lil, so i stopped at the parts store to get a new one and then headed up to work to put on my hood...then what i thought was fuel starts sprayin up on my passenger side windshield, and i figure i'd make it to the shop but then it keep spraying more, so my friend who was riding with me roll the widow down and touched the fluid with his finger, and said it was oil! we made it to the shop and oil was everywhere more so the passenger side of the engine bay....i was so pissed!!!!! come to find out its the seal where the crank and balancer meet was spitting oil out. lets say i wasn't too happy degreasing my engine bay in cold weather...and the 3M undercoating was getting gummy from the oil i guess...i could just wipe it off to the bare frame! how do I go about cleaning that mess up??? any tips? I don't even want to think about it more less talk about it but i wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem with their undercoating? i thought it was oil and gas resistant. my mechanic mentioned using WD-40 spray on then wash off. the degreaser didn't seem to do too much
