After running my car yesterday I could here what sounded like my fuel was boiling. Would a carb heat shield fix this problem, and if so which one would be the best to buy?

It's a olds 455 with a Torker intake and a holley 750 hp. What other info would you need?

if the fuel was boiling the engine wouldn't be running too good. Why do you think it's fuel boiling?

I could hear what sounded like boiling coming from the carb. I also looked over into it and I could see gas squirt in every few seconds.

Do you recall the engine temp before you shut it down? I know that some of the carb spacers have a higher thermal resistance that keeps the fuel in the bowls cooler.

The only reason I asked is I know there are some heat soak issues with the edelbbrock carbs. That problem is solved by separating the carb and intake with a thick gasket. Timo

Could you have a high fuel pressure issue? Should be < 5 PSI - how is the car running otherwise?

I'm running between 5 to 6 psi. The car runs fine, but floods at idle. Could that be the cause of my flooding ?
