Full floor pans, fit in through the top side?

I was not there when they installed it. It either went through the front or when they had the roof off

So I've sort of started on my factory 4 speed Grand Am. Of course the floors are shot.
I've found several sources of full pans. All are Goodmark brand as far as I can tell.
Cheapest being from A2Z @ $390 shipped. All other brackets come in ~ $332 from Dixie.

So, my first question is, has anyone installed the full floor pan from the top side?.
All interior has been removed except for the dash and steering column, which will be coming out.
Doors will be coming off as well.
I'm not really interested in using used floors.

I had a new floor pan put in and it fit in through the door opening with the door off. I was not there to see it put in. Bought it from www.gbodyparts.com. It was around $600 with all brackets. It is a quality pan. It needed a little trimming to fit so that was done before install.

You would have to weld it. Adhesive could be secondary attachment/sealing but glue will never be the best way to attach steel to steel.

Even a rank amatuer using a $90 Harbor Freight flux core welder could make a stronger, more lasting bond between two pieces of steel than a PHD in polymer chemistry with some super secret department of defence steel bonding agent, and the PHD in polymer Chemistry will be the first to admit it.

If its my butt sitting in a seat being held in place with glue, or with weld, I'll take the weld.

If you need a good reason to weld, remember, your seatbelt bolts mount to the floor pan.

With the high forces involved in a collision - both the deceleration not to mention the buckling metal - that's not something I'd trust glue in a tube for
 
Thanks guys. The reason I'm asking is because I pulled the carpet to replace the crappy carpet job the person I purchased it from did and what I found underneath explained the crappy carpet job. The diver side front has a patch of sheet metal that was screwed in but that had a hole in it too and covered with a piece of carpet that was screwed in. Those seems were then sealed with some foil tape and the rear drives side had a piece of screwed in carpet to cover a hole back there as well.

The passenger side looks like another piece of sheet metal that had some kind or adhesive bonding it that is now old, dried out and crumbling. The tunnel and rear passenger side is good. I'll try to get some pics up so ya'll can have see what i' dealing with and also so I can field some suggestions about the best route to take as far as replacing whole floor or just the three bad areas. Thanks again for the feedback!
