Don't forget to upgrade the oil pump Buicks weak link.if you have a good running engine you will be happy you did.

To clarify, that is a kit that Melling offers, it is some gaskets and a cast iron wear plate. Also, use the oil filter adapter off of the 350 if you have room. If you are going to rebuild the 350 before you install it, upgrade to rubber style front and rear main seals. If you have acccess, find a machine shop to drill the oil galley in the block out to 1/2 or 5/8 it will net 10 to 15 more psi of oil pressure with no ther changes. Also run B12B Turbo Buick 3.8 front cam bearing that is grooved on the outside for additional lifter/rocker arm oiling.

By the way Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil has the ZDDP to keep the flat tappet cam alive.

Lots of guys seem happy with Comp Cams 268 for the 350 Buick.

^ excellent info here ^

the oiling system is a big deal on a SBB350, especially in performance applications.

a high volume oil pump can help get your idle oil pressure up too

theres a decent book

http://www.amazon.com/How-Build-Max-Per ... 1934709875

that covers a lot of the oil mods whats and whys

Should be a fun project!
I'd love to get another Regal someday and do the swap again!... But actually make it look nice this time
I think I spent less than $500 doing the swap on my old wagon.

You've seen the few hurdles I ran into, but the only thing worth noting is don't use V6 radiator hoses.
I tried it and while it did work, it really didn't turn out that great...
If I were to do it over again I'd just cut down some earlier A-body V8 hoses.

Cool man, I'll remember that.

Could I use the V6 starter, if not, will a 350 starter fit?

Of course the first thing is to address the oil pump issue. But if you are up to opening the motor then you should install fully grooved crankshaft main bearings. This is because the Buick oil path is to the cam and lifters first, then the crank. http://www.teambuick.com/reference/library/71_chassis/files/60-b.pdf (pg60-52) Fully grooved main bearings assure positive oiling to the crank and rods instead of waiting for the feed holes in the crank to come around. I had a '68 LeSabre 350 and with low compression heads and these mods and an HEI it was able to cruise reliable at 100 mph.

I've heard tell that one would need to modify the throttle cable and kickdown cable. What need modding? brackets? Cable itself/new cable? If it's the brackets, can I get some online or what do I take them off of? Remember, got a 3.8 2bbl here. And on the 350 I will be going with a 4 barrel q jet with a T/A stage 1 intake.

I reused all the V6 carb brackets and cables. My V6 had the Rodchester 2bbl carb which is nother more that a Qjet with the back barrels missing. Now what I'm not sure about is the T/A intakes compatibility with the stock stuff. The intake may be higher than the original cast iron intake. Then you just need the throttle cable from any V8 Gbody or B body.('80s Caprice, Olds 88, 98 etc.) The trans kick down should fit. If not, then look at the B bodies also.
I hope this helps.
