5 years ago the white cutlass had the 260 while I built the 350 the first time. The 86 in the picture will be my next build. After many attempted thefts and 3 kids the car just sits waiting for a full tube chassis. From big rims to big tires! O yea and my boxer is now fat. I just ran across this pic for the first time in awhile and I thought I'd share it.

Well Christmas was good for the kids, and at the family dinner I seen the cousin that had been offering to help before I started this project. So after making him feel bad, he came over to help. So with an extra set of hands I couldn't help but get that frame slid under there and mocked up. I'm still waiting on body mounts. Also got one tub mocked up. She's gonna sit low!!! Bunch of muscle cars out today around my area. It was 60deg out!! So I got pulled away for a repair then a fun ride in my buddies big block camaro. Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Got my body mounts from TRZ today! You know I just couldn't wait!!!!
Help coming for the weekend. Should get lots done but it is New Years after all!!!! I'll have to see what that corn stuff lets me get done.

Got some fitting done. The front bars that came with this Jegs kit are junk. I'll be replacing them for sure! I just tac'ed the bars in place for now with my 135amp welder. So I preheated the bars. Final welding will be done with a 240v welder. Here's the front bars. Again they look bad. I guess there meant to go in front of a dash but even then I think it would look bad. Not enough angle on the bar. It needs a 120deg angle up front from what I measured. No matter where I connect it to the halo it is way to close to the wheel. The new bar should be almost hidden by the a pillar.

Now is the time to take care of that. You need to get the down bar close to pillar as you can for looks and also for your line of sight to the tree.
Here is a pic of my current project which might give you some ideas.

Yea idk what Jegs was thinking. Even there drawing shows the bar with a much better angle then what I got. There's a few places close to me that bend tube so it's no big deal but still? What where they trying to do? Not only did it block my view and give me zero hand room but there's no way to fit a dash bar like that and it look good. I mocked it up and the new bars will look good and fit tight. Your truck looks good. Next cage I'll be bending myself.
