I have a big block in my Monte and eventually a SBC in my Regal. But I am a big fan of cubic inches and power.

Man that's nice. I wanna do something like that to my monte. You really make me wanna sacrifice and keep both. Cause I wanna fix at least one of my trucks as well.

Honestly, being a father comes before any car that I've ever had. You can always buy another down the road. Keep the one that's functional and sell the other.

Oh yea always... I was a single father before my daughter and I raised my son by myself. That's why these projects not finished lol. But I plan on getting one done.
By the look of the profile pic I would go Monte, but then again I am biased. Pics of both to see what kind of shape they are in would help, what kind of trucks are you looking to fix up?
I'd say go with the Monte for all the same reasons others have mentioned plus you wouldn't be splitting time and money between getting two running/driving/finished.
