when we fabricated frames for our race cars since we had no cad program we would build a jig and laid out all the important control points with jig attachments using laser, plumb bobs and other measuring tools. If you don't have the equipment to read the frame you have are you not setting the frame on a jig to fabricate fixtures to pick up the control points so that a modified frame can be fabricated on that jig? I'm confused how you are going about this, pictures look god but give no help to measure out a frame. The diagram I posted of the frame gives all the measurements to fabricate a jig to build a modified frame.

Agreed. The second post is the baseline. Once the essential data is established the constraints and limitations will become clear. In another life, back when I was 18-19 years old, I reverse engineered machinery using just the raw parts and assemblies straight out of jigs or reproduced by corporate memory of floor workers to create the production and assembly drawings that were long overlooked. So I really know how valuable and appreciated even a basic set of specs would be in this situation.

I still miss being a CAD-monkey at times.

I was just wondering if Brian@ Canadian Hot rods has any more comments or updates on this post ??
And I'm sure a ballpark price would also be of interest to us Canadians...

I have to agree with axisg on this one. By the time you factor in development & production costs, I can't see it being less than 10K. I really can't see it being a high volume seller either. I think that most people will probably upgrade/modify/improve their existing chassis because of their budgets.

We are currently working on a new design to bring the cost down compared to our other frame models. We are talking to heidts for a front suspension that will be less expensive than our standard Corvette suspension, and will still performance great.
Keep an eye on our website for updates. The chassis should be out by spring.
new donor car..

Hello G-Body peoples,
What a helpful forum for any G-body questions I could ever have!

I am a chassis designer at canadian hot rods inc and i am working on designing a G-body performance chassis. I am looking for info (pictures and measurements) on all types of models to make sure nothing is over seen throught this process. If you have any underbody pictures of your g-body I would be happy to see them, also if you have measurements (center line of wheel to body mounts/ bumper mounts ect, ect,) I would like to see them and compare to what I have to elimate any differences.

Our typical chassis set up is C4 corvette suspension front and rear (although I working on a ford 9" as well with 4-bar link) with multiple crossmembers to strengthen everthing up. Most of our cars are running LS engine and gen v LT's.

If you guys what to see pictures of the design process as I go let me know!
Thanks!
