Also Detroit being a "large" city may have it's own statute. that supersedes the state penal or vehicle traffic law.

Example in NYC's 5 boroughs a suspended license is an arrestable offense.

But the rest of the state it is a summonsable offense.

Because people hear things then apply them inappropriately. It becomes general misconception. Especially when you're talking about a sub-culture, cars, and the internet. How many people out there look at huge superchargers sticking out of hoods and say "wow look at the turbo" because they don't know?

The magazine was actually called "Donk, Box, and Bubble" originally, referring to the full size GM body styles of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, respectively. Im sure they shortened it because widespread misconception was that "all big rim lifted cars are donks" and it was more profitable and easy to market.

Google donk day in Miami or check it out on youtube. I grew up in Miami where the term was coined, and it was just a way of categorizing a body style that was regarded as the most desireable car in the hood. If somebody actually did some research and looked into it instead of putting complete trust in almighty google search, they would understand

FFS could we drop the whole "definition of a donk" thing already? Been played out way too many times here. We get it, we understand the technical definition of it, everyone knows.

I'm sure the cop thought about going after, and who knows, he may have caught the tag and radio'd it in, definitely a description at least. we don't know. First priority was stop and make sure the jag and maybe that other car (couldn't tell for sure if it was hit) were alright, and take their info/statements/reports/etc. at the scene. Which is what they should have done.

HOT PURSUIT is probably fun but dealing with what's at hand comes first. Hope they catch and throw the book at that guy for being a first class idiot, fleeing the scene and all that. You're going to tag someone while hooning, at least own it.

Im pretty fluent in sarcasm, so I don't think so. It's whatever, no hard feelings. I like the fact that this forum can actually host debates and allow people to express themselves without members getting outta control or moderators being nazis(like many other forums).

And to be clear I think people who ruin any of these cars with body lifts, hacked fenders, and way too big wheels/tires are morons.
