What carb is on it again?
What do you mean by a dog off the line? Does it pick up after 3000rpm or so?
Summit 600cfm

I’m not sure how to explain it if I get on the gas the motor reacts quickly however it doesn’t really accelerate well per day til probably 2200 or so and then seems to die out around 3500 in my opinion maybe I’ll do a WOT video. Way easier to do that than try to remember and explain.

I think you tach is whacked that does not sound like 2800-3000 rpm to me, more like 1800-2000 RPM. Was that 3rd to 2nd then back to 3rd? At 35 it should have kicked down to 1st gear.

You say it has a 1700 stall TC, you can see in the vid it jumps to 2800 on the tach and stays there for 20 mph gain, so that shows me that is 1700 RPM on the motor so I think your tach is off by 1000 RPM @ 2800 shown on tach

Timing is set to 22 base with 18 in the distributor and the vacuum advance is working.

If my tach is 1k off that would be weird since it idles at 1k on the tach

factory tachs can be weird when they get this old. Did you remove what looked to be a resistor that was being used as the V8 jumper on the back of the tach?

Like I said you can see the RPM bang up to 2700 and hang there for 20MPH gain in speed. That is your TC stall RPM (1700 RPM from your info). The motor is definitely not turning 2700-3000 RPM IMO
