Plugs were new this summer so not many miles,1000 or so.

E3;s are GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Half of them don't work out of the box.

The plugs are getting covered in oil that comes from the valves. My plugs looks like yours when I had the problem with the valve geometry.

Yeah,I'm thinking either intake gaskets,valve seals or valve guides are the culprit.
I'm already making plans to pull the engine out next year and see whats going on.
It wont be this year as I will be going back to work out west on Oct 2nd and I'll be gone all winter.
Got to make some money so I can fix the Monte up !!!
This will also be a good time to probably replace the solid roller lifters,I left them in too long last time and trashed the 468.

I would change the oil back, give it a while, and if that doesn't fix it pull the intake and check the gaskets before pulling anything else apart.

Thanks I already changed the oil,but there was no change.
Plans are already in the works for pulling it out next year and give the 513 a "freshen up".

Just to update,I pulled all the intake rocker stand bolts out,cleaned them and resealed them and let it sit overnight.
This seemed to help a little bit,but not completely,it's still smoking and using oil.
But I did get to my last car show of the year,and now I am making plans to put the Monte away next week for winter storage.
I will be happy to pull the big block out next year to see whats wrong and give it a "Freshen Up".
Hopefully I will have a real good year finanicially and make lots of $$$ !!
I have already been in touch with the gentleman that supplied all my parts and balanced the rotating assembly last time,Mike "Wolfplace" Lewis in California;

Mike will be more than happy to get me any parts I will need in the spring,he is a great person to deal with.
It sure will be nice to get this "Bad Boy" working properly again :banana:
