So after two days Natasha and I have unloaded 3 (and a bit) pods worth of stuff. We have been pretty steadily filling the upper floor of the shop with the contents of our old basement and the car parts I did bring. And the attached garage has one bay steadily growing.

The shop itself has exploded with all the things. I am really uncertain how I want to lay everything out for functionality's sake. I did go to school for space planning so I am sure I'll figure it out.

But, I am super relieved to have access to my tools again. The last massive PITA to move is the 2 post lift. That's a tomorrow or the next day thing.

I cooked our first meal in the kitchen using cast iron skillets (because it's all I could find). Bacon and eggs. We have furniture to sit at/on in the house and I just spent a couple of hours searching for cups, plates, cutlery, etc so we can stop living like we're camping. The cupboards have some normality in them now.

The girls are asleep on their mattresses, and our new one will be delivered on Thursday.

We are back to work tomorrow. So the tempo is going to change as we try to develop a rhythm.

Welcome to your new normal. Fortunately, it was an expansive choice of (mostly) your own making. There will be those moments when you realize that you don’t have to do something ‘that way’ because that was the old house. Funny, when you realize you can rip that box off your head.

Enjoy finding your new way. I hope the school experience is an improvement. Seems like a nice landing pad.

Agreed. It is definitely going to be an adjustment. Good news is everything heavy is now on wheels - so the adjustments are easy.

The girls seem pleased this far (they can actually use the play structures without fear of the coof (what in the actual F*CK?)), it helps having a cousin at the same school, and Tatiana started learning cursive writing so she's pumped about that. They have stripped so much out of the curriculum in Ontario is pretty disgusting.

We have quite the wind storm going at the moment - it kicked up hard late last night and has been constant since. Restful sleep it was not. The air mattress didn't help either.

If you put the plug back in the air mattress it won't sound so windy.

I believe you cannot be part of the 'hood' until the neighbors have experienced you in your full glory. And I won't believe that's done until you've blessed the road with rubber. And without pics/vids means it's only hearsay.

Kidding aside - congrats and hope it works as well as you hope for you and your family.

Now onto burnout pics ;)
