Getting the F' Outta Dodge.

Probably a good idea. We are too large and diverse to hold together as it is.

Natasha and I had a very uncomfortable discussion today about the next logical step: moving to another country.

Our assets (and liberties) are being eroded at an alarming rate. Disturbingly so. Inflation and rising taxation and fees on everything is making it unsustainable. We looked at the next decade and owning things in this country is going to become untenable. It is by design. Our kids (each currently owing $66K to the national debt (not accounting for the other freeloaders who will never attempt to pay their share)) stand to inherit a world of hurt. We can take what we have now and run, and make the money work for us on the other end while we figure the rest out. No one predicted this in Aug 21...

Is the US Army hiring aging partially worn-out senior officers?

Things will be cheap shortly after interest rates hit 12% again via Trudeau-nomics 2.0. I'm not full on tinfoil hat but I don't think having debt in 3-5 years will be a good idea. Things will correct, eventually, we all just need a good round of suffering first.

Things that will have value? Cosmoline, brass, lead, yeast and malted barley... maybe a hamm radio?

Last I checked, there was a 35 year old cutoff to cross over from enlisted to the dark side in the Air Force. Not sure if that spans all the forces. If not, it's probably not far off. Not sure about programs for folks who are already officers, of there is one I'd expect it to have more leeway.

National Guard/Reserves can do the over 35 for prior service. Not sure if it'll be the same for non-US prior service but might have to go back to the correct rank of an NCO. With whats going on in Canuckistan he could be a political refugee.

Did you wash down that horse-sized jagged bitter pill with a tall glass of warm Haterade?

I have people skills!

If we both cash out our pensions we're sitting pretty. If we don't... ugh.

Own nothing, be happy they said...
