Stock on the left and projector on the right. The projectors do have a more clear and crisp light. They dont really show up in the picture. They were brighter earlier and my car battery is already low so I assume they arent getting the full volts. Battery is low enough where car wont crank and barely turns over.
Projector with the halo rings. Not as bright as the factory cars with leds. Halo could use more leds in them. They only have some at the top and bottom.
I broke three exhaust manifold bolts and I have taken all ten cylinder head bolts out but the heads still wont come off. If anybody has info on why and any more info on my motor from looking at it let me know. I put a thick piece of wood by the ports and tapped it with a sledge hammer thinking that would break it loose but it didnt. Also in one off the pictures the freeze plug is cracked but I did that getting motor of truck.
Well Im highly pissed right now. Found out that I dont have the big boy caddy engine but the small 368. That could have been $200 toward other parts. Ughh. O well. I guess I will be sticking to the sbc.
That sucks. You might keep the brackets, pullies, harmonic balancer, & HEI. The pullies & harmonic balancer saves a lot of weight / rotating mass for saved HP & quicker reving compared to the old cast 500/472 pullies. It also does away with the smog pulley/bracket set up. You can pull the double pulley off. Two belts runs everything including your gbody AC or not with a change in belts. And some of the older 500/472s still had points ignition. Never know down the road you might find an older 500/472 for next to nothing or trade parts.
Edit to run a gbody AC I used the Edelbrock Performer intake & turned the back of the top bracket.
Yea it does suck. Im just going to scrap everthing to try and recoup some of those lose. The money I spent on the 368 I could have basically had a complete rebuild kit for the sbc.
Just saying somebody wants the good parts that I mentioned for their project for the reasons I mentioned. So you can keep them or sell them on one of the three big engine Caddy forums to recoup your money. Or you can scrap em and make it a total loss.
True I could have done this but I had to get it out the yard. I was keeping it at my mothers house and she already didnt want a big motor just laying around.
Shucks I was hoping you would have taken a few minutes and pulled/saved the good parts and at least helped the next guy out. You would probably have gotten your money back as somebody is always looking for especially those brackets & pulleys. They often sell shortly after listing as they are getting harder to find. 425s & especially 368s are getting harder to find.
