Yeah your right I love it and that discussion about that engine setup is what I think I wanna do now, with that option with the hood that we were talking avout, hey my wife was trippin on how we found each other, she was like "do you teust him, do you know him?" I told her guys are different , if you find something that you both are passionate about then nothing else matters and friendship builds from that... Plus hell the worst that cuda happened was either you or I saying no and moving on... But its cool to know someone who is just as eager to finish there project (well at least one of us are) lol, but hey im thinking im takeing my console out tomorrow and ill bring it buy next weekend, I fell in love with that newer center out of the new gp. But I will let you know.

Also went to the salvage yard today and pulled a power drivers seat motor and transmission along with the wiring and switch from a 83 Regal. it had the 60/40 split bench seat and seems to be a pretty nice upgrade to my GP.

I think you'll find that there is a difference between the power seat track for a split bench seat car, and a bucket seat car. I don't know if you've got bucket seats in your GP or not. I bought a power seat track from an '82 Regal that had a split bench seat, thinking that it would be a direct bolt-in swap on my '84 Monte with buckets. Well, it fit the floor mounts perfectly, so I assumed that it would be a dirct bolt-in onto the bucket seat-not so. The seat mounting holes on the Regal track are 1" wider apart than the seat mounting holes on the Monte bucket seat. I made up some adapter brackets that would allow me to use the Regal power track, but I found that I couldn't get the seat to adjust low enough or far enough back for me to be comfortable in the car. My head was almost rubbing the headliner, and I was too close to the steering wheel. I've since found out that there are differences between power seat tracks for split bench seat G bodies, and power seat tracks for bucket seat G bodies. I'm trying to find a bucket seat G body power seat track to put in the car, but failing that, I'm going to have to do some cutting and welding on the Regal track, in order to get some more aft and height adjustment on it. Just letting you know. Good luck with the rest of your interior, and keep the pics coming.

Thanks for the tip clean8485!.. I pulled the transmission and track without figuring that out, luckily i pulled it from regal with a 60/40 bench seat and my GP has the same seat option but manual. So i think it would work. I got tired of looking for a GP center console that wasn't worth it's weight in gold!! :| besides that i had to get buckets and that was another grip of $$. I am just going to get my stock seats redone and add the power seat option, i even went back and pulled the rest of the seat harness, only issue i have is how to mount the seat switches.. anybody know??

Glad that I could help. On a stock power bench seat car, the seat switch mounts right in the end of the seat facing the door. There must be some kind of mounting panel or reinforcement that's part of the seat. Is there any way to check on the vehicle that you got the parts from?
