3rd chapter of the Compound / Prison Planet saga...

Specs: 36X48 plus 12X36 lean-to addition, 4/12 pitch. 13'6" walls to accommodate 12' single roll-up door. All windows, skylights, and clear fiberglass panels omitted both for privacy and security reasons. Insulated wrap between framing and sheeting. 6" slab with 2'X3' footers under main bay for hoist support. Plumbing stubbed to add bathroom at later date. Basic 200A service with 220V drops.

I will be providing the lighting and will likely add sheetrock and additional insulation later. Eventually a bathroom with a shower too in order to accommodate the RV spot where the manufactured home used to be.

Construction began 1/29/2020...

These guys move really fast and even work weekends. Buildings like this is their specialty and the contractor owns the truss company and the crane. Pretty well vertically integrated. If they didn't have to wait on building inspections, they could probably pound this out in three days.

Updates as they unfold. There may be some overlap with the Prison Planet thread but it'll be closed once this building gets put to work.

Yes. Commit and dive in. Regret nothing.
Choose 'full enchilada'. If you're gonna build a small-block, start with a 400....

Looks Great, fast progress! Couple things I did right on my shop regarding wiring, consider upgrading to 12 gauge wire/20 amp service to all your plugs. A cut off saw takes 15 amps and will invariably kick out the breaker right when you are half way thru a cut. 20 amp you can run just about anything. Also, you'll like the couple extra 220/240V plugs, one for sure by the overhead door so you can weld/cut outside. The last thing is put a RV plug on the outside of the building so your guests can hook up the RV and enjoy some a/c. Just my 5 cents worth (we don't have pennies in Canada any more so we had to inflate our worth by 3 cents)

All good suggestions. I'll run the 20A idea past the electrician and get his thought. But, really, I can't think of any of my tools that are that power thirsty. I used to use a 110V welder that would pop a breaker if it shared the circuit with my big space heater but they're both long gone now. I'll definitely drop the 220V by the roll up door though.
As for the RV power, the RV pad will be where the single wide used to be. Water, septic and power are already right there. They're going to trench power from the pole to the shop. The bathroom will be in the corner closest in the doodle photo so I'll trench over to tie into the water and septic. It's an older pic and it's bordered by railroad ties now. When the shop is done I'll bring in some road mix and smooth it out.
My septic tank would be at 9:00 and about 50' out of the frame. My well is at 4:00 and about 60' away. Irrigation canal directly behind.
