Ground Strap 82 Bonneville

the ground strap in my GP was attached same as what is in the picture. I don't recall ever seeing a covered wire, I have always seen a braided bare strap.
My car had the braided strap from the back of the cylinder head to the upper center portion of the firewall as well as the 'battery cable' style ground to the driver's front body mount.
 
So, i don't see the problem here. Can't you crimp a new lug on, or did it snap in the middle? Find a local phone company cable splicer (getting rare these days); they should have a replacement.
 
There’s no problem. I am planning on attaching a new end so I can re-connect it. As I stated earlier , I was curious about it because I had never seen this on a gbody . Thanks to Jared for filling me in...timo22

ok, I'm 'lost' on this one -- I've never seen one of those before.. Why do some G-body's have them while most don't?
