I wasn't going to put little carpet pieces in the corners but I figured I better. Glad I spent the extra 30 minutes

I had picked up a GM interior rear view mirror for the windshield at my local pick n pull yard last year. It was in a newer Pontiac I think. It has map/reading lights under it. I got the harness too. I just ran the wires in the support structure of the roof out of sight. I Tee tapped them into the dome light harness at the top of the A pillar. I did not know they work when the doors open as interior lighting so that was a plus. It came with a plastic trim that holds the wire harness up to the headliner but it was about an inch too short. I used the woven new style wire wrap and it looks just fine. The interior should light up like crazy at night when I open the door

One of the first mods I like to do.

I know you're trying to keep this thread clear of distractions, but wanted to reiterate how impressive the build is, the bar is being set impossibly high for a lot of the rest of us

I'm not trying to set a high bar by any means. I absolutely love that you guys show interest in the these worn out piles I drag in and build. Some here have said that I motivated them but hell, I can tell you guys that you motivate me just as much. .

I can say that me not taking this car off the frame has haunted me. I plan on in the next couple years to tear this car back apart and strip it to bare metal. I have got factory lead seams bubbling my new paint, horrible panel gaps that will need metal work, and worn body bushings. I'll drive it and enjoy it for awhile so I can get other projects finished up. I started out as building a daily driver and did not take the time to make it perfect. Now as it's progressed, it has become a beautiful very rarely seen car. I think with me going as far as I did on my 55 with the 3/16 gapped panels and near perfect panel fit, this car seems half assed now to me. It would be a fairly quick rebuild as all the parts are restored. I am a slight bit of a perfectionist and as Bar50 said, I'm my worst enemy. As a car I found by chance, it has captivated me because it is so different.

Been awhile since I checked in on this thread. As always awesome work!

Totally random but I stumbled across your 55 chevy hardtop build thread over at trifive and I got hooked. Read every post, saw every picture from the beginning and I was devastated when I wasn't able to see the photos anymore because of stupid *ss photobucket's change in setup. That has to be my favorite build I have ever seen because of your work to what I consider my dream car.

The photos are not working?

Are 78-80 cutty/salon/Calais coupe doors, the same for these butless's?also will 85 cutty sedan tails work on these?
