Oh man, those came out nice. I wondered how lacquer and acrylic would get along,
It was a bit of an experiment. I knew that laquer nail polish would be a bad outcome so I wandered the nail polish isle till I seen enamel. I gotta say, it was a little embarrassing to be looking at nail polish. For sure I was the only guy there 😳

Those turned out great!

Glad you're waiting to paint instead of rushing it.
It always just leads to more work in the end...

We had a saying when I worked at the resto-shop... "if you want it bad, you get it bad"

Nice trick on those lights. See you took up on the paint pen idea 😀. Those paint pens are perfect for small details that spray paint cant do.

Those lenses look great, awesome job!

OOOOHHH MAN AM I PISSED!!! I got the 1st coat of base coat black on the body and found some sand scratches in the drivers quarter panel. I don't know how I missed them. Totally wasted some base. With it as cold as its been, I don't know how long its gonna take before I can sand it. I think I'll use my dual burner propane heater and close it up in the garage for a few hours. DAMN IT!

Crisis fixed. I set it in the sun and it got that black hot. I rolled it back in the shade and used 600 wet on the scratches. Worked great. Just sprayed last coat of black. Cleaned out a 5 gallon bucket to pour my gallon and quart together of my indian bronze pearl in. This way it will match. Whew

Glad you got that fixed, good catch! Are you using a water base or petroleum? I know most paint stores out in CA are converting to water ( I have never personally sprayed it) suppose to be very forgiving and covering/blending marks above traditional bases. Post some pics!
