Just an update on this car. I may be building a mild cam 400 small block for it. I have two good virgin 400s in my garage. The other is for my 55. I can't do anything till this coming summer because I promised my wife I'd remodel the inside of the house this winter.

I was starting to worry that this had become an abandoned project, glad you're still with us, and I know that "honeydo" list never goes away....

I am hopefully Z Chroming my 55 Monday. I already have it masked off and ready. Next weekend I'm going to pull the engine/trans out of the Salon. Going to strip down the engine and take it to a machine shop. I had bought a killer dual electric fan/shroud combo for my 82 Jag project. I traded the jag off for a 56 F100 truck so the fan/shroud will go on the Salon. Luckily I have the factory steel top panel from a Grand National. Think they're the same as 307 cutlasses. I really like the electric fan/shroud kit. Check it out if your looking for one. I can live with the noise as long as it keeps the car cool. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/der-16927

That's a nice fan setup man! Shouldn't have any problems keeping the salon cool with 4000cfm. I have ran the spal dual fan setup on my built 355 for years with no cooling issues whatsoever, and those are around 2800cfm.

I just read entire thread this afternoon. 4-speed had me hooked 🙂

It sure is funny how temperature effects my work ethic. In the spring and summer, I spend 90% of my time on my projects. Yesterday, I was planning on pulling the engine from the Salon today. Well, today is here, it's raining and barely above freezing. Yesterday I did wipe it down though. Lol. I could fire up my propane heater in the garage but I'd need the 55 pushed out. Not going to be pushing it out into crappy weather. So I get on here, catch up on some members builds, and get fired up to work on something. I badly need a shop built. This 2 car connected garage sh*t sucks. I'm not going to blame the multiple projects though. LMAO. I keep changing my mind on the engine to use. I really want just a stock 350 since this car appears original. Now I'm back in street racing mode and wanting to build a Monte Carlo SS. Bottom line is, the Salon is the closest to being finished of all the projects and should be tackled first. Waking up in a new world every day sucks

you know they have meds for that :/

J / K, I don't know how you do it. I would be laying awake nights just trying to keep up to what stage each project is in.
