Wow!! Scott, I'm impressed.Oh yeah, he bleeds gear oil too. He is actually a veteran diesel mechanic...been at the same place for 45 years! He is the one responsible for my love of wrenching!!!! My younger brother and i were helping do engine swaps at 9 or 10 years old.
He is really big into vintage and unlimited hydroplane boat racing....his dad got him into that when he was a youngster.
The crazy part....my mom used to drag race a 69 chevelle ss 396 competitively in the late '60s!!! She still has her fire jacket.
So it does run in the family...that's awesome...and your mom being a veteran drag racer....that's so cool. I could see how they help support your addition.
How was your dad involved in unlimited hydroplane and vintage racing? Do you have any pics? I was also a lover of stock outboard racing when I was young. It got to the point where I couldn't afford the hobby anymore, so boats, engines, and gear were sold off.
I wish I still had it all still.
