EL CAMINO HELP

Hey guys my 1983 el camino won't hold and idle, it spikes up to 2000 rpm then slowly dies, if I hold the choke down it holds its idle, I can't figure out what it is or how to fix it I need help I'm desperately trying to go to hot rod power tour,

Check for vacuum leaks, if the carb is bolted down, etc. Type of carb helps.

First vacuum leak. Base gasket? Did it happen all of a sudden? Recent repairs? Hear a hissing sound? Take some flammable carb cleaner and spray base of carb and see if engine revs up. Did it happen after you jumped on it as the secondary's could be partially open. Take needle nose and clamp off vacuum hoses.
Do Gbody goo-goo dance 3 times and see if gbody gods smile upon you

make sure the vacuum for the brake booster isn't leaking

could it be the well plugs? Because when I pump the accelerator pump it didn't spew gas, also it's running extremely rich on my afr GUAGE
