So Im working on cleaning/ rebuilding my holley 4160 carb this morning, a first for me. Its part number 3310-10.
What was the carb doing initially that made you want to rebuilt it?
And did you completely disassemble the carb even the rear metering plate that requires a special butterfly tool?
Did you soak the carb and verify there are no blockages in the metering block even in the idle mixture screws and spray all the passages out?

Was just looking back through the parts I had left and there was the spring for the accel pump. got that fixed now. I also dont think I have the throttle body plate bolted to the carb body tight enough. the gasket looks wet between them. Should I replace this gasket or tighten it and call it good.

Initially I had a hesitation when Id get on the throttle for a second before it would go. I probably didn't need to rebuild the carb but I wanted to learn how because Ive never done it. I did thoroughly spray every passage with carb cleaner and blow air through. I did completely dissamble the carb. What is the butterfly tool you speak of? Is that whats supposed to be used for the weird screws on the metering block? I used a flat head screw driver that fit tighly on those screws.

When you removed the original gaskets were they hard to remove? Many times there is gasket material left on the sealing surface which can affect the new gasket's sealing if you are sure they are clean then re-tighten the float bowl in a crisscross pattern.
And yes there is a specific tool to remove for those odd shaped screws but if you were able to remove them and reinstall them tight you should be OK.

And the light bulb just clicked. My dumbass never hooked the vaccum line back up for the brake booster. I bet it will run better with that!

You might want to have that delay looked at on that light bulb.;)
