Can someone explain an easy removal for this lower spring. Ad the hood I got has one on top!

And I believe the bottom needs to be gone before I cut it off . And I’m not the hacking type. Video below

The spring on the rad support is to push the hood up when release is pulled.

The hook is to keep it from flying open if latch fails while in motion.

Experience tells me do not remove safety/secondary hook latch. 16 year old me did on my 72 Chevelle SS..I mean it's got pins, right? Until you get off work one late evening amd someone has stolen your hood pin clips and you didn't notice. OE Cowl hoods make great aircraft wings (lots of lift, even at slow speed)

Thanks for the share. Great story, so do you think I should remove the bottom spring because it is in the way of the new the safety latch that I just purchased? Sorry about the sound. I thought I could show it instead of all the speech, Dez

Spring should be on hood, behind latch bar...it lands inside the u shaped area on the rad support

How is it attached to the rad support?

The second lower spring is deep in the front support. About 2 inches.
Do I need to get rid of the lower spring. Seems so…. As when I tested the latch. When lowering the hood with the new safety latch temporarily attached. It HIT THE LOWER SPRING. Dez

Looks like the end of the spring may be jammed in ? This is my question,
Does that bang out. Or should I cut it!
Dez. Thanks man

Not needed so cut if it doesn't twist out. You didn't do this yourself, was the way you got the car?
