Hot light wont turn off

Test to make sure the Ohms values are correct but it could be possible it's a factory defect.

A factory defect? The car is 41 years old... I have owned it for 5 years. And this just started when the thermostat went bad 2 weeks ago.

I was understanding the temp switch was new. If it is the original it might just be time for a new one.

Temp control sensor is brand new ... Just installed yesterday

Yes not leaking

That may be why its on, its not grounded

Right... I put plumbers tape around the threads... Im going to pull it back out tomorrow and take the tape off and let you know what happens. Thanks!!!

I thought they grounded to turn the light on. Sounds more like you pinched the wire in the manifold.

unplug the wire at the sender, if the light stays on then you have a problem with the wire like fleming442 suggested
