Is it possible to remove the locking mechanism inside the steering column & it still function properly?
Why would you not want to lock your car ?veltboy314 said:Is it possible to remove the locking mechanism inside the steering column & it still function properly?
I'm thinking about doing some custom work... When I'm not in the car it will be secured in my garage so I'm not worried about anyone stealing it.tc1959 said:Why would you not want to lock your car ?veltboy314 said:Is it possible to remove the locking mechanism inside the steering column & it still function properly?
so is it just the 4 bolts that hold the steering columm up ?84Hurst/Olds said:Well I got under there and figured how to drop the column. It was really easy to swap out the switch.....
And it worked great! It starts up like a 2010 now. The old one didn't look burn't, but it looked like it had been dipped in salt water or something  But I'm really happy with my car now. I wanted to set it on fire yesterday.
Thanks for your help on this one...
are they hard to reach the ones on the fire wall ??84Hurst/Olds said:I took out the bolts that held the piece around the column on the firewall. Then the ones that hold the column up to the dash.
aight thankspontiacgp said:if you just drop the bolts that hang the column up you can easily get to the ignition switch....when you change it make sure it's adjusted properly before you put the column back in it's place
